Flexsim 2.5 - The vision of the future

The latest release, focussed on broadening the applicability of the technology, introduces exciting new objects as well as incorporating new functionality, which further reduce the time taken to create dynamic models of a process.

Innovative New Objects have been introduced including:

• New Collision Object. Allowing the user to identify collision zones around a movable resource and specify evasion processes.

• New Recorder Object. Powerful new data recording object that collects standard and user-defined data and displays 3D and 2D graphs, charts, and tables.

• New MultiProcessor Object. Define an unlimited number of processing steps on one object.

• New Watchlist Object. Make changes dynamically depending upon a change of any variable in the model.

• New VisualTool Object. Replaces VisualObject and VisualText, also can be used as a container or presentation slide.

• New FlowNode Object. A network node that allows flowitems to flow through - each with unique speeds if desired.

• Improved Rack Object. Now including flowrack functionality with accumulating angled shelving and ability to mark next flowitem to leave.
  

Exciting New Functionality

• New Presentations Capability. New functionality to allow truly dynamic Virtual Reality presentations. PowerPoint will never be the same. This includes -new sound functionality incorporating the capability to have a sound wave file played at the beginning and end of a flypath.

• New Excel Interface. Integration with excel has been made easier by new import and export wizard functions on the toolbar.

• New Model Initialisation Capability. New functionality to allow models to be initialised to a given real world start up position.

• New Machine Breakdown Functionality. Now allows a Processor's MTBF to be based on the time it is busy or total simulation time.

• New Triggers. Over 50 new triggers released. Click here to access the full list

Improved Support Tools

• Improved Online Help. To aid the user in model development the online help has been totally reorganised taking into account all the latest functionality and making it even easier to use. In addition the hint text has been improved and expanded.
  
• New and Improved Sample Models. New highway and airport models truly show the power of the tool and utilise the impressive graphics. Also added is an operator shift work sample model showing the flexibility of the tool to cover complex shift patterns; new Experiment1.fss, OrderPacking1.fss which include custom menus for importing data from Excel, and ConveyorSortationLanes1.fsm which shows the power of the Flexsim conveyor functionality.
  
• New Educational Objects. Several simple objects are included in the library for educational purposes.
