Ideas to enhance the presentation of your model

Make regular use of the views pull down menu to add important view points in the process during the development of your simulation model. This makes navigating around the Flexsim simulation model extremely easy and helps when creating scenarios. Once your Flexsim model is complete remember to use the ignore object option in the window settings to avoid altering the simulation model display.

Changing the bitmaps associated with the standard objects will allow you to insert your own logos onto the sides of the default queues. Try changing the Flexsim, flexbox and Flexrust bitmap files in the fs3d directory of your Flexsim software installation (remember to backup these first as you might want to go back to the Flexsim originals!).

Using Messages can greatly simplify a whole host of modelling problems. As an example lets assume that at the end of processing a part you need to clean or reset the machine. This process will take an additional 10 minutes to complete. Simply close the input ports of the current machine and send a delayed message to the current object for 10 minutes from now. On message simply open the input ports again. This can be extended to keep the operators before freeing them.

Using the custom draw code options in the properties window is a great way to enhance the visual aspects of your simulation model, anything from creating a new dynamic object's to simply putting an animated cube on the simulation screen can be achieved using this pull down menu.
