Exploring Enhancements in Visualization and Spatial Awareness with respect to Discrete Event Simulation

The paper will review the history of the simulation software market with reference to the use of computer graphics before examining how recent developments in these technologies are impacting on the use of simulation.

Particular emphasis will be placed on how developments in simulation , graphics software techniques and hardware are providing the opportunity for a whole new dimension in the use of simulation across a number of sectors, not least the manufacturing market. The paper will use specific examples from industry to illustrate how the developments in the simulation market are benefiting a wide range of organisations across a number of business sectors and on a variety of business improvement projects.
